Club Events and Winter Bowls

Tuesday popstick draws happen all year round – 12.30pm for a 1pm start.

Wednesday scroungers are a great way for all members of the club to improve their bowls in a fun and social setting. Note, the new time for summer. Be there by 3pm for a 3.30pm start.

Thursdays and Saturdays after the pennants season feature nominated triples events. Get your team and pay up before 12.30pm for a 1pm start.

Thursday and Saturday bankers are played all year round, 12.30pm for a 1pm start.

Dress:  Mufti for all popstick, scroungers, bankers and winter games.

Club uniform for pennant and championship games.

Ladies’ Pennants

The ladies play pennants on Tuesday mornings and on Saturday afternoons. Pennants are played from October through to March.

Men’s Pennants

Mt Pleasant has a number of teams playing men’s pennant bowls during the season – both Midweek (Thursdays) and Saturdays.

Sunday social bowls

A social bowling event will start on Sunday, February 25 to encourage both social and experienced bowlers to play in a fun atmosphere. The free sessions will start at 3pm and also run on March 10 and March 24. The bar will be open from 3pm. Click here for all the details.

Club championships

Congratulations to our club members who have taken out our championship events so far.

Women’s singles – Susan Allen defeated Gail Worley.

Men’s singles – John Mueller defeated Brian Thornton.

Pairs – Howard Richardson and Greg Samson combined to win the men’s pairs, while Gail Worley and Mary Thomas won the ladies’ pairs.

Mixed pairs – Congratulations to Michelle Farmer and Terry Ridley who won this event in a thriller over Pandora Court and Bernie Tattersall.

Triples – Lisa Brannan, Mary Thomas and Cathy Paxton combined to take out the ladies’ triples, while Ken Shipman, Geoff Thorn and Kevin Swan won the men’s triples.

Mixed fours- Margaret Kermode, Brian Thornton, Dee Maras and Trevor Williams were the winners of the mixed fours.

Charity Challenge

The WA firefighters social bowling challenge was held on Wednesday, February 7. The fun event raised money for the children’s burns unit.

Australia Day bowls

The club held a fun event on Australia Day, with nearly 60 bowlers taking part. There were prizes for the best dressed, nearest the pin, the first touchers and the winning teams.

Ladies’ gala day

Thirty teams from around the metropolitan area enjoyed a great gala day at the club on Friday, December 1. As well as two rounds of bowls, the entrants had morning tea, lunch and afternoon nibblies provided by club members. There were various raffles, including a wine raffle, and lucky numbers  to be won. Well done to everyone involved and to the day’s winners, Leeming. And thanks to our great sponsors, Mode Realty.

Club awards night 2022-23

Members of the club had a lovely dinner where all the winning performances of the 2022-23 season were celebrated. A warm congratulations to our overall ladies’ bowls winner, Michelle Farmer, and our overall men’s bowls winner, Geoff Pinkus.
