Ladies’ Pennants

The ladies play pennants on Tuesday mornings and on Saturday afternoons. Pennants are played from October through to March.

Every Friday morning – Top bowlers Donna and Lisa have kindly offered to run some coaching sessions for the ladies every Friday morning. Get down to the club by 10am and get some great help to improve your bowls.

Men’s Pennants

Mt Pleasant has a number of teams playing men’s pennant bowls during the season – both Midweek (Thursdays) and Saturdays.

Bowls news

Congratulations, Kaye – One of the club’s star bowlers, Kaye Blackwell, has added another trophy to her burgeoning cabinet. Kaye paired with Noelene Abe to win the GenesisCare WA women’s over-60s pairs final at Rossmoyne Bowling Club on Friday, November 11. Kaye and Noelene beat Irene Leahy and Bev Davidson 22-14. Well done to all for making the final.

Men’s four winners – Congratulations to Norm MacLean, Reg Lowe, John Mueller and John Wood, who won the club’s first bowls event of the season, the men’s fours. Click here to see the winners.

Bowling Buddies – Our six-week community program Bowling Buddies was a great success, with between 30 and 50 people taking part and a great write-up in the Fremantle Herald. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped out on the green and in the kitchen. And to read the great story about our club in the Fremantle Herald, click here

Gold, gold, gold – A massive congratulations to club member Kaye Blackwell, who with her WA teammates Rhonda Prosser and Kerry Andersen won gold in the Australian Open Triples Championship by defeating NSW 20-16. Well played, Kaye!

Club Events

Tuesday popstick draws happen all year round every Tuesday, 12.30pm for a 1pm start.

Wednesday scroungers are a great way for all members of the club to improve their bowls in a fun and social setting. Get to the club by 3pm for a 3.30pm start to enjoy this great social competition. From December 7 the start time will switch to 4pm – be there by 3.30pm!

Thursday and Saturday bankers are played all year round on Thursdays and Saturdays, 12.30pm for a 1pm start.

Dress:  Mufti for all popstick, scroungers, bankers and winter games.  Club uniform for pennant and championship games.

Members of the club had a lovely dinner on Saturday night, May 7, where all the winning performances of the 2021-22 season were celebrated. A warm congratulations to our ladies’ bowls winner, Anne Banks, and our men’s bowls winner, Terry Norrish.
